Property Owner's Chainsaw Safety Course

K0M is pleased to offer a local source of education for those looking to get more out of their chainsaw operating skills.

Regardless if you have been using a chainsaw for years or are just about to buy your very first we will teach you everything you need to know and then some.

Our 1/2 to full day courses will start by teaching you the fundamentals, nomenclature of your saw parts, safe operation, maintenance and proper use to ensure you are getting the most out of your tools.

This course is perfect for anyone who uses Gas, Battery or Electric Powered Chainsaws to produce fire wood, maintain their property or custom cut wood / mill logs.

As an entry level program it's great as a gift for a spouse or family member, perfect for "team building" and will have the operator more confidant, proficient and able to save money on future purchases of new saws and maintenance expenses.

Our course meets OHS (occupational health and safety)
 CSA Standard Z62.1-15 (R2020)

Although there is no licensing body for chainsaw training in Canada, the CSA standard states that for work-place operation employees must be trained by a competent individual, our years of experience and certified training put us in that class. It also protects you as an employer for knowledge verified training records that are NOT completed by a peer or co-worker.

Local Bush Lot

Our course takes place in a real bush lot, you will have the opportunity to cut down real trees in a real world environment.

Operating out of a 50 acre tract of land near Kennisis Lake in Dysart we will be focusing on Chainsaw Operation, Safety and Maintenance. However our property offers a vast diversity of tree species and ages.

Our primary heating is by wood so if you are looking for a good fire-wood course we can tailor that for you to expand on splitting, storing, best species as well as explanations on volume and sizing.

Introduction & Safety

Our course is designed for the new operator or beginner. However even a seasoned professional will learn new and proper techniques from our course.

We pride ourselves on the most up-to-date content and continued reviews to ensure we are providing the very best training.
